Members from ETCH and colleagues from the University of the Philippines were proud to demo Battle in the Blood (BitB) at AIDS 2018 in Amsterdam. As part of the Building Bridges to HIV Testing Networking Zone, two BitB championships were held with delegates and visitors in the Global Village. Some of our wonderful contestants shared their experience and thoughts on the game. Follow the links below to watch the interviews in full.
Alex - US/Philippines
Alex was delighted to be the first BitB Champion at AIDS 2018. As a Filipino who has conducted research into stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV in the Philippines he was intrigued by the game and narratives within it. Watch the full post-competition interview here.
Brian - US
Brain entered the 2nd BitB championship with his 10 year old son. While Brian was knocked out in the first round his son just missed out on first place after a very close final. Brian felt the game was a great way to introduce concepts around HIV prevention and treatment to children and adolescents. Watch the full post-competition interview here.
William - Germany
William was the second BitB Champion after a close final. William was incredibly supportive of the game and brought a lot of positive energy to the competition. Watch the full post-competition interview here.
Othim - Kenya
While a little disappointed she didn't best her friend William, Othim had a lot of fun taking part in the championship. Watch the full post-competition interview here.
